Hi, I’m Kate

I’m a corporate marketer with thousands of events under my belt.

My passion is combining human-centered design and business strategy.

How’d I get here? Here’s the quick version:

Student Athlete ➤ Neuroscience Student ➤ Classical clarinetist  ➤  Music festival organizer  ➤  Director of Events at an Art Museum ➤  Events Manager at a Tech Start-Up ➤ B2B Marketer

As the Event Director at The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts - I managed a team of 5 and hosted nearly 2,500 events during my tenure. I set all sales and marketing strategy for the business unit.

We worked with Luxury Weddings, tech conferences for the likes of WordPress & Better Up, and galas for big companies like Breastcancer.org and Virtua Healthcare. The event team became the organization’s primary driver of earned revenue and welcomed more guests to the Museum than the museum itself. I built up my reps on vendor management, complex project management, and communications.

Then, I got an opportunity to switch from the “vendor” to “planner.” As the Marketing Event Manager at Crossbeam, a growth-stage tech company, I managed the entire portfolio and strategy of marketing events along with the $2M budget. I planned hosted conferences, virtual summits, 3rd party sponsorships, ABM motions, partner co-marketing efforts, and an expansion to EMEA.

Now at Middesk, I’ve again started an event marketing channel from scratch as the first hire. But the role has also allowed me to expand my marketing skills more broadly as a generalist.

I cover:
Demand gen, partner marketing, field marketing, social, content, brand campaigns, product marketing, sales enablement and more. I’ve helped design roles and added direct lines to my team, and managed others through dotted lines.

Now, I’m here to help you.

Whether you’re a VP of Marketing that needs a consult on your company’s strategy, an agency that needs some shor-term help, or an event marketer looking for insider advice, I’m here to share my knowledge and advice.
